Family Heritage

Sugar Hill Farm is more than just a vacation rental—it's a piece of Kentucky history lovingly preserved and shared. This registered historic property has been in Anne's family for generations, passing down through the decades as a cherished family homestead.

When Anne inherited her grandfather's beloved farm in 2018, she faced a choice: let this piece of history sit idle, or breathe new life into it by sharing it with others. She chose the latter, embarking on a careful restoration that honors the property's colonial heritage while introducing modern comforts.

Today, Sugar Hill Farm stands as a testament to thoughtful preservation—where original hardwood floors meet updated amenities, and historic charm blends seamlessly with contemporary convenience.

Your Hosts

Welcome to Sugar Hill Farm where heritage and a lifetime of memories begins for me….

This is a place where I learned to swim, where family dinners went late into the night with laughter and dancing, and where afternoons were spent exploring the fields and riding horses to a cousin's house. The rolling landscapes, the beauty in each of the seasons, even getting snowed in was a beautiful adventure when on the farm.

Sugar Hill Farm consists of 30 acres of land, 2 homes, and several barns for the horses. The original front home dates back to the late 1800’s and was considered a simple hunting lodge surrounded by dense woods. My grandfather purchased the home and surrounding land in 1941, prior to his enlistment in World War II. His family had lived in Versailles, KY since the 1700’s and he dreamed of raising his family in this area as well.

After marrying and starting a family my grandparents decided to renovate the home in the early 1950’s opening up the front patio, adding the sunroom, study and Master bedroom/bath and reorienting the stairs. I hope that you can enjoy some of the pictures in the upstairs hallway showing its transformation and definitely check out the “Cinderella Princess Tub” that was all the rage still intact in the Master Bathroom.

Sugar Hill Farm also has a small Cozy Cottage at the back of the property that is surrounded by horses on all sides and tucked away from the front road. It has been recently renovated as well and is a favorite for smaller groups and individuals seeking peace and quiet. We are happy to rent each of the homes individually or as a complete Estate able to sleep a total of 15 guests.

As the third generation of my family to care for Sugar Hill Farm I take enormous pride in sharing my home and land with you. I hope that you can also enjoy this special place with your family and friends and make beautiful memories together. My wish for you is to step away from your stresses and the busy-ness of our current times. Take some deep breaths, talk with the horses, gaze over the vistas and enjoy the beauty of nature that surrounds you.

Thank you for choosing Sugar Hill Farm. We hope to become a treasured family tradition for you as well.
